Do you sometimes look at the day or week ahead and want to crawl back into bed? As I get the kids ready to start their day, I look at the week ahead of us. We normally have very hectic days every week. This week and the next few weeks look a little more crazy and unmanageable. I’m wondering to myself; how will I go about managing my busy week?
I look at what I need to and want to accomplish and I sit a little immobilized in fear. I know sitting and doing nothing will get me nowhere really fast. Soon the end of the week will be here and I will have unmet deadlines, an unhappy husband and angry kids.
In order to manage my busy week I’m going to need to count on the tips that keep me motivated, you can check them out here.
Once my motivation kicks in I have to really center myself to get through this week. I love our hectic life but I also love the quietness of nothing. There is beauty in both of these aspects of my life. What’s important for me; in order to be on top of managing my busy week I’ll need to keep everything in perspective. To appreciate the chaotic moments for what they are in our life and to grasp and bring more calm, is a place I strive for.
Life is always about balance, in every area. Bringing this balance is quite an art, I give so much admiration to those that have been able to accomplish this. For me I’m taking a chunk here and there and working on balancing those realms better.
When I’m going about managing my busy week and busy life it’s important that I focus on doing what it is I can do. Not being hard on myself (unless I’m just being lazy) and being okay with where things are going to fall throughout the week.
Since most the things I have to do involve the kids and things that are important to them; I tend to take on more than what is reasonable. Like all of us parents, I want to give them every opportunity out there. We tell our kids whatever they are going to do, do it well. Therefore, I must lead by example. If I manage to do 50 things poorly (or they never really get done) that doesn’t accomplish much. If I take 25 things and do them well then I will have had a successful week. I will be satisfied with what I have completed. I also think at the same time I will be teaching the kids things I wish I would have learned earlier in life. Showing them how to manage the busyness of life while also instilling in them the importance of balance.
Managing my busy week ahead of me will be quite the task. If I maintain doing the things I can do and admit to myself what I can’t do, I will get through it. As long as I remember to allow the peacefulness of quiet and calm to enter even at the craziest of moments.
How do you go about managing the busyness of life? What about those weeks that are jammed packed with more than the usual stuff?
