Ways to Make More Time For Your Family & Yourself
There’s never enough time in the day for moms when they have a baby. Whether you’ve just had your first baby or you’re on your second or third, it’s always hard to find time to do everything that needs to be done. Here are a few tips to make the most of your time and organize it so you can get more done—and hopefully make more time for yourself.
One of the first things you will need to do if you want to stay on top of everything is to get organized. For some people, this comes more easily than it does for others. However, try to make a big effort to get organized because it will make everything else seem a lot less stressful.
Start by getting yourself a calendar or diary and fill it in with everything you need to do each day. Check it before you go to bed and again first thing in the morning so you stay on top of what needs to be done.
You might prefer to do this on your phone by using your calendar app or a dedicated app like Remember the Milk.
You can set reminders for yourself these days by speaking into your smartphone. If you have a gadget like Amazon’s Alexa, you can also speak out reminders while you go about your day so you don’t forget things.
You will also want to keep the bedrooms and other rooms in the house organized to keep clutter to a minimum, so set a time of the day to do a quick tidy up so you don’t have to think about it again.
Get Into a Routine
Part of being organized involves getting into a routine. Having a routine is one of the best ways to plan your day when you have lots to get done.
Your routine is something that works for you, so you will have to work it out yourself. It could involve setting times for your shower, breakfast, meals, going to the shop, bedtime, and other regular tasks that you have to do each day.
A routine is one of the simplest ways to keep on top of things, so try to get into one as soon as you can.
Get Up Earlier
Getting up earlier is easier said than done, especially if your nights are broken by the baby waking you up. However, if you can manage to do it, it can make a big difference to your day. You could give yourself an extra hour or two to get things done in the morning, or you could simply get up early to enjoy some time to yourself before your baby wakes up.
Try it yourself. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of practice to get into the routine, but you might find that you give yourself lots more time every day.
Help Your Baby to Nap Regularly
Nap time during the day can give you a chance to relax, get chores done, or maybe even have a little sleep yourself. Try to get your baby into the routine of napping at the same time every day, and you might want to use something like a Babynest to help them sleep.

Get Some Help
Finally, one of the best ways of all to make more time for yourself as a new mom is to get help from family and friends. If your parents live nearby, invite them around to look after baby for a few hours while you do something else.
If you can afford to hire some help, you might want to do this too. Get a babysitter to come around every once in a while, or hire someone to do your ironing or cleaning to free up your time.
Look for options to get some help, and you could find that this is the best way to get more time to yourself and avoid getting too stressed. We don’t have to go it alone and there are ways to make more time for your family and most importantly yourself! If us parents aren’t taking care of ourselves we are no good to the rest of the family.
