Having 7 kids and 4 of them being boys I can tell you we’ve spent a large chunk of our lives at the football field. Youth Football is part of a our life and we love it. Through the years our boys have had injuries and some scares, thank goodness there are lots of safety considerations now and everyone is thinking of ways to make Smarter Football for our Youth.
Taking Youth Sports Seriously with Smarter Youth Football
This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Riddell. All opinions are my own.
It’s been one of the best experiences as a mother seeing my kids grow through their experiences in and out of classrooms. Let’s face it, sports especially youth football is a big thing for kids and can impact them for years to come. The folks over at Riddell are making sure that the kids are kept at the forefront in their Smarter Football campaign.
What is Smarter Football and how is it impacting Youth Football?
Riddell looks at Smarter Football in many different aspects. Some of them include but are not limited to Safe Tackling, Proper Nutrition, Excellent Sportsmanship and Maintaining Good Grades. These are all areas that yes do help the kids involved in youth football but is something that goes beyond that in helping these young kids to grow to be productive members of society regardless if they continue sports in the future.
In this campaign Riddell is wanting to teach these children that being the strongest and fastest is great but that isn’t the main point. Being smarter in all things they do and making healthy life choices on and off the field is what really matters.
At the same time Riddell are also using all the technological and scientific advances to make Youth Football Equipment the best for our kids. They are helping to evolve players into elite athletes with the implementation of sensor, cooling/heating and grip technologies. With Smarter Football our kids are getting the most advanced equipment and educated to remember an elite athlete must be elite in all areas of life.
Riddell is bringing their campaign to the attention of everyone and calling coaches, parents, players and fans to take on a very active role to advance the game of youth football through the Smarter Football Commitment. They are wanting members from the football community at every level of the game to join in on this movement to create a safer, better sport by taking these Smarter Football tactics on and off the field.
Riddell is graciously is pledging up to $100,000 in grants for football equipment to select football programs that are needing to get their gear upgraded. There are many grants that will be awarded to several programs that best demonstrate how this new equipment will be used to demonstrate and carry on the message of smarter football. Entries will be taken from August 1 through August 31, 2017, winners will then be announced during the 2017 football season.
One of the ways this mom sees Riddell’s dedication is in the way they have developed and introduced the very first flexible football helmet using SpeedFlex. They have also launched their InSite Impact Response System and their innovative Precision-Fit.
Any program you know of that can benefit from Riddell’s amazing grant be sure to let them know and here is how anyone can apply:
Fans, administrators, coaches, parents and of course players can submit their teams through their website at Riddell.com/SmarterFootball . The deadline to submit applications is August 31, 2017. To apply, fill out the form to share the details of the football program you are applying for, including the state of their equipment, and how your program practices Smarter Football.
Being a Saint Louis Crusader family here in Hawaii we take our sports seriously, especially our football… everyone is part of getting our game face on! Being that my son’s are part of the Brotherhood of Saint Louis home of none other than Marcus Mariota – Heisman Trophy winner and Tennessee Titans quarterback (yes we love to brag about him)!
Now let’s get the word out to any youth football program you know of that can benefit from this wonderful grant. The more we create conversation about Smarter Football the more we’ll see their tactics being used within Youth Football programs.
