I love to bake and I love to eat anything baked 🙂 hehehe!!!! I wish I could say I was as good of a baker as I am an eater…. but I’m not so good in the baking department. I can bake simple things but macarons that look like macarons are hard for me. My baked goods may taste just great but getting them to look picture perfect is not my forte.

Macarons are all the craze right now, at least here in Hawaii. The variety of flavors are unbelievable, the first time I heard of a macaron that was called Maple Bacon Macaron; I thought yuck. Well…. all I have to say now is yummy… I can’t get enough.

One of my teenagers loves to bake and she does a pretty awesome job. She also likes to try new things she sees and is willing to mess up a little to get it just right. She’s more of a trial and error where I can be a little impatient and want things perfect the first time. We started this macaron making adventure together 🙂
The Silicone Baking Mat for Macarons comes rolled in a nice box. It’s a very nice and thick silicone that has absolutely no weird plastic or silicone smell that has been there with even some very high-priced products. I just can’t use things that have that weird smell.
I immediately loved the guides on the Baking Mat for Macarons. You can use them and make perfect macarons or it even allows you to improvise. The teddy bear ears added is just the cutest touch and you can do it to one or as many as you’d like on this half sheet baking mat. You can make all different sizes too as you are left to be as creative as your imagination takes you.
My first time trying I made 1/2 the sheet with the standard size and half the mini size. I feel like we’re not being so “bad” when we eat a few minis – Right?????
The macarons came out perfect and were so easy to take off the baking mat. They looked a little professional if I do say so myself. As long as you allow them to cool they slide off easily. This allows you to not use sprays, oils or other things that add to the calories and fat level.
The sheets clean instantly without effort. I like not using my pans as they seems to leave the bottom of cookies, macarons and other baked goods browned at the bottoms even though they aren’t overcooked.
My daughter made some teddy bear macarons which turned out really sweet and looked just as nice as I’ve seen in some little bake shops.
I’m really happy with my Premium Silicone Baking Mat for Macaroons. The Simple Baker actually made things simple for a not so good baker like myself. My baking skills have a long ways to go but I really feel the shape and the evenness of my macarons came out quite nicely. We’ve even used the baking mat for other things like cookies too, and they come out much better than with the old fashion pans.
