I came across a little blog hop last night called Finish The Sentence Friday. The sentence for this week is: If I had a Million Dollars, I……
Lots of thoughts go racing through my head. My main thoughts are of the things I wouldn’t do if I had a million dollars.
I wouldn’t change too many things about my life. The majority of my life and the people in it are wonderful. I would still continue to be a frugal shopper, always looking for the best deals. I would continue my love of thrift shopping….. Oh my, I love thrifting. And yes, I loved thrifing before “Macklemore” started singing “Thrift Shop” and made thrifing cool. I would continue to enjoy our home, our neighborhood. My children would still keep their referee jobs and pay for the extra little things they like to have. I would keep my son diligent in his fundraising for his soccer trips. I want my children to appreciate what they have and see that nothing in life is free; there is always some hard work or dedication involved.
On to what I would do with a million dollars!
I would make a college fund for ALL of my children. I would not make it so all of college would be taken care of for them. I would love for them to have a foundation to work from. I believe having to get and keep scholarships and having part-time college jobs keeps you rooted and grounded to your goals. It helps you to stay focused on striving to do your best. Although, having some money already geared towards their college only goes to make things just a little bit easier for them.
I would buy a trip around the world for one of the dearest persons in my life; Barb.
I would buy my husband a dragster or just give him the money to make his own. I guess the fun is in the making of it 🙂
I would set aside money in our savings so we wouldn’t have some struggles that come in life especially in the lives of large families.
Lastly I would invest whatever was left.
