My son’s had the chance to read the first book in The Dream Ten series David’s Miracle, you can read our review of it here. When the opportunity to read another one of A.D. Erving’s books came up we were excited. My boys were really anxious to find out what was going to happen next book in the series: The Dream Ten: Where’s Tony?
From the Author:
Do you dream, breath and play Basketball?
The second must read book in the Dream Ten book series, for every Basketball lover in the age of 7-14!
Six months after the events that took place in first book, the Dream Ten have made it to the semi-finals of the Lower-NYC All-Star League Winter Classic, after a brilliant game against The Cobras.
Tony plays a great game and is being invited to play for The New York Panthers, one of the best teams in the region, but to everyone’s surprise he doesn’t show up for the first practice.
When he misses a Dream Ten practice and doesn’t answer the phone, the other players understand that this is not a coincidence and something is wrong. The gang decides to put off the semi-final practice before their crucial game against their worst rival, The Warriors, and starts their adventure in the streets of New York to seek the answer…
This is the second book in the heartfelt 12-book series, that offers abundant fun and excitement, accompanied by important lessons about overcoming obstacles, achieving goals, and pulling together when it matters most.
A slam dunk for young sports fans everywhere!
I really enjoy that we are able to get quality books electronically. What’s even better is the prices are awesome and they offer my children a huge selection to choose from.
My son’s really enjoyed the first book they read in The Dream Ten so I thought there was a good chance they’d also like Where’s Tony? the second book in this series.
My preteen and teenager both read the book. With it being basketball season it really brought things to the forefront and they couldn’t wait to get their hands on the tablet to get reading.
We love how this book series has taken an unlikely team and brought them to the “semi-finals”. This is huge and the story and the sportsmanship with The Dream Ten is truly emphasized.
As this new adventure starts, it takes on a turn that you wouldn’t have expected. This causes the team to have to ban together and put practicing for the big game on the back burner as one of their teammates goes missing.
My kids loved going on the search with the team and others as they try to find their friend and team member. The whole time the boys were on the edge of their seats wondering what would happen and if they would find him in time for the semi-final game and even wondered if the team itself would make it to the game.
My sons learned so much about immigration issues you would not have even expected in a teen sports book. The subject matter was brought together very tactfully but in a way to bring knowledge and enlightenment on subject matters usually not touched on. I love when my kids are entertained and educated all at the same time!
My tween loved reading this book so much he’s now read it 3 times and I know he will keep rereading. My kiddos are so excited to see what’s gonna happen in book 3 with The Dream Ten. A.D. Erving has done a fabulous job keeping the reader intrigued, motivated and wanting more.
