Where do you find encouragement? Are you able to bring encouragement to those around you? Even when things are not going as planned or things aren’t going the way I feel they should; my heart tells me to uplift and strengthen those around me. It is so nice when you can find encouragement and uplifting thoughts from so many sources that cross your path.
I am so grateful for the many people and places around me that give me a smile or words that help my soul to soar. I have had depths of pain, but have found so many more mountains of happiness all around.
I am making a more conscious effort to always bring encouragement to those I encounter. I feel it’s important because of the abundance of support that has been unfailingly given to me.
It never ceases to amaze me how I can be feeling down, stressed or overwhelmed and an inspirational person will cross my path. Not just family and friends have brought me encouragement. Strangers, a cashier or someone passing me in the store can share a happy thought, compliment or a sincere smile and can change my entire day. The power of giving someone a positive word or even a cheerful look can make a world of difference.
When a sincere act of kindness is given it can have such an incredible domino effect. I want to bring the same encouragement to others that has been given so freely and generously to me by so many.
It goes even further when we give a child a compliment, pat on the back or that hug when we see they need it most. Bringing faith and empowerment to children can have a deeper meaning and can ultimately determine how they go out and face the world. Our children and younger generations are our future.
I often refer to my children’s esteem as poker chips (no I do not think my children are a card game nor do I let them gamble). I tell them the world may knock down their poker chips but it is my job as their mother to build their poker chips back up. They will stumble and will make mistakes, but I will always be their cheerleader and always bring encouragement. I may not agree with them all the time, but I will never leave their side.
Are their people and things that give you encouragement when you least expect it and need it most? Who do you want to bring encouragement to?
